Pauline Deltour: The balance between elegance of form and intelligence of function
For the development of the Signal pendants in 2017, Emilie Cathelineau recalled the working method of Pauline Deltour. A very thoughtful method, based on research drawn from the living! It is her precise creative work carried beforehand and over time that made it possible to consider new ranges of the Signal collection into wall and floor lamps a few years later. During a meeting organized by the POOL agency, CVL Luminaires had the great opportunity to collaborate with the renowned designer Pauline Deltour. She liked to come to the workshop near Angers (where she had family) to watch and discuss with the teams, but without interfering. She loved the return to nostalgia as much as the race towards futuristic design. It is in her spirit – to bring something old back into fashion – that she has revisited the neon of yesteryear with great elegance. Her representation of brass, her great versatility and her liking for French manufacturers like CVL quite simply gave birth to Signal.
The Signal Collection by Pauline Deltour
The lights from the Signal collection designed by Pauline Deltour are a real elegant allusion to the classic neon to which its originality lies in its off-axis light source. Signal is available in pendants, wall and floor lamps. These latter enrich the collection in line with the pendants presented in January 2018 at the Maison & Objet fair and later in May at the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) in New York. The asymmetrical lines give these lightings a sharp and refined style that is very contemporary. The materials used – solid brass for the structure, coupled with a white polycarbonate diffuser – radiate an air of discreet luxury. The Signal luminaire, whether in the form of a pendant, chandelier, wall lamp or floor lamp, is usual, clever and minimalist at the same time.
Signal wall and floor lamps: novelties of 2022
In 2022, the Signal wall and floor lamps made their appearance in the latest catalogue. The Signal family expands with a series of linear wall lights in six dimensions. For single fixtures, 345mm, 445mm and 545mm and for double fixtures, 520mm, 720mm and 920mm. They can be installed vertically or horizontally depending on the decorative principle chosen. Very elegant with its off-axis light, the structure of the wall lamp is available in all the finishes usually offered by CVL, in brass, graphite, nickel and copper, satin or polished. You can imagine the double Signal wall lamp above a bed or the simple model on each side as a bedside light.
The Signal Floor Lamp, meanwhile, is available in three fixed models according to the same principle: a round base in solid brass.
- The Pivot floor lamp has a horizontal white polycarbonate diffuser with a rotating head. It measures 115mm and can be placed as a reading light at the end of the sofa.
- The Duo floor lamp has two light diffusers placed on structures of different heights, one 115mm and the second 155mm.
- The Solo floor lamp, fitted with a single diffuser, is available in two sizes: 115mm and 176mm.
Depending on the model of floor lamp you choose for your interior project, each comes in brass, graphite, copper and nickel, polished or satin finishes. It is supplied with its 2700K LED light source with the possibility of dimming the intensity of the light (phase-cut dimmable floor lamps).
