Les Clopes consists of floor lamps, table lamps and pendant lights. Their transgressive yet smiling name, emblematic of the spirit of a designer skilfully juggling references to popular culture with those of excellence, comes from their long, slender tube shape. For their feet, José imagines a white or black lacquered metal finish, in a satin-finish brass variant. And then, echoing his fascination with Japanese craftsmanship, he developed burnt or toasted wood, a novel technique that the manufacture had to integrate into its palette of practices. The sensoriality of such a material blends harmoniously with that of linen lampshades.
